ItinErranti began in 2008 when two folk musicians met two classical musicians. Their inspiration was soon the possible dialogue between different ethnic music through Mediterranean area. In their shows, songs and music interlock with dramatic readings and videos. The first art project of the group is "Nòstoi. Returns" about ethnic music of Salento, in the South of Italy. Many cultures has left a trace in the music of this land like those greek, albanian, maghrebian. "Messapica" is the dedicated to an old people coming grom Greece. "Stories about a night in Orient" is a carpet of songs, sound ambient and stories from the South of Italy, the East Europe and the Middle East.
"Nòstoi. Returns" is design around the subject of travel, through stories of departures and returns, some of wich true and some of wich immaginary: the funny adventures of the trumpeter Marco, the love between Giovanni and Nina, the departures of Nino for the war, the fight between Pici and the mine in Belgium, the return of Rocco who emigrated in Germany. The music, the songs and the videos guide the spectators through the memory of the figures, that could be also the own one.

"Messapica" is dedicated to an old people coming from the near Greece. Erodoto tells about a Cretan navy that was destroyed by a violent storm. This navy passed near the peninsula of Salento, where the survivors decided to settle. From this moment, they was called "Messapi", that means "people who lives between two seas". "Messapica" tells the myth of Messapo called "the horses breaker", the story of Baxte who loved Patroloco and the heroic deeds of Artace. Music and story ride the Ionian and Adriatic seas. The look is suspended between "here and elsewhere", on the border between the Occident and the Orient.
